The Simple Life

I have realized today that the simple things in life can be more rewarding than a Pulitzer Prize. I turned on some "chill" music like that of Jack Johnson and Donavon Frankenreiter, and began my Chore of the Day: washing the dishes, from last night's disaster. I poured the soap in the left basin of the sink and let the water run. Soon there was the fresh smell of Dawn entice my senses. I began washing the dishes, the warm water felt good on my hands. It was like a homemade manicure for cheap. Simple things are like magic to me. The wind blowing through the trees making music, reading a good book in your favorite chair, or even washing the dishes. Taking a long hot shower after a hard day can be like heaven. Relishing those little moments can make life more enjoyable.

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. -Confucius
